Now that you know how to create ‘Workers’ in Autodesk Prodsmart, you might want to add all your workers in bulk to save time. To do this you can use our Excel/csv importer, which we will show you how to in this article.
1. On the left menu, click in ‘Workers’.
2. On the top right corner of the screen, click (1) in 'Import' and select (2) the option ‘Import Workers’.
3. Download the template file and fill out the columns accordingly.
The file should be previously prepared as follows:
Number (Column A): Unique identifier of the worker. It cannot be repeated.
Name (B): Name of the worker. For clarity’s sake, the name should be as complete as possible, to avoid misunderstandings about who is who.
Shift (C): A scheduled period of time during which the worker is supposed to work. If you do not know how to create a shift, please read this article.
Sections (D): Physical section of the factory in which the worker will be producing. If you want to know more about sections, please read this article.
Worker Groups (E): The worker groups to which the worker belongs. Allows several workers with the same job function to be grouped. If you want to know more about worker groups, please read this article.
Cost/Hour (F): The value assigned to each hour of labor.
Site (G): The site to which the worker belongs. If you want to know more about sites, please read this article.
Language (H): The language that will be displayed once the worker identifies him/herself in the tablet. If the value is empty, the system will assume the account's default language (that you can change in the Settings > General).
NFC/RFID/SmartCard/Barcode for Log In (I): The code that is associated to the worker's card. It will enable the worker to identify him/herself using a card. If you want to know more about this topic read this article.
4. Choose or drop the files to upload/import and click in ‘Start to send’
5. Read carefully the warnings that may appear:
Yellow warnings - there is an issue with the selected line of the file you imported; however, the system will adapt it and import the file anyway. You must recheck what might have been changed and if you agree with it.
Red warnings - the system will not import the line with the warning, because something is wrong and a workaround cannot be applied. Nevertheless, you can ignore a line and import the rest of the file, by unselecting the blue square in the beginning of the line.
6. Click on the ‘Confirm’ button and your ‘Workers’ have been uploaded!
