Autodesk Prodsmart provides a chat server within the application, so your workers can communicate with each other and with the back-office users to deliver critical information about what is happening on the shopfloor.
Note: Speak to your account manager or our Support team to enable the worker’s chat feature.
1. Start a conversation from the tablet
With the workers chat feature enabled, after logging their worker number, every worker has access to the chat and can send messages directly to any worker or user. The chat button can be accessed after logging the worker number, on the top right corner of the screen.
2. Start a conversation from the back-office
With this feature, back-office users can also start a conversation, both with other back-office users or with workers.
On the top of your screen you will see the chat icon, and by pressing, the chat will open on the right side of your screen.
Here you just need to press the user/worker/group or channel you which to talk with and send your message.
3. How to create chat channels and group messages
You can use the “Group Messages” button to create Group conversations, if there is a need for more than one person to be involved in the conversation.
You can also create channels (for specific topics like quality analytics for example) and chat in those channels.
Both in the back-office view and in the mobile view you will have a notification popup on top of the chat icon to let you know that you have unread messages.
